Join us to be inspired by the natural beauty of this beautiful valley in Mid Wales. We will spend time relaxing, walking, sketching and hand-building pieces. We will then build and fire an experimental paper kiln on the last night of the course.

The Event
This event takes place in a charming family home in rural Mid Wales, nestled within seven acres of rewilded land. We'll draw inspiration from the surrounding countryside, exploring both the grounds and local walking paths. You'll have ample time to craft unique hand-built pieces, which will be taken to Birmingham for firing after the event and returned to you. This event welcomes participants of all skill levels, including complete beginners. Nessa Grimes, the owner of Fire Formed, is an experienced ceramics instructor and will provide the support and guidance needed to complete a handbuilt garden vessel from grogged clay.
Enjoy simple yet delicious home-cooked vegetarian meals and basic but cozy accommodations, either in the house or camping, offering an opportunity to relax and unwind away from daily life. Connect with like-minded individuals and create ceramics in a safe and creative atmosphere.
